The Foothill Poppy is originally a North American prairie plant. There this annual or biennial plant grows in the wild, covering whole swathes of the landscape with its brilliant lemon-yellow flowers from May onwards – an amazing and unforgettable sight. It also grows very easily and self-seeds readily in our domestic gardens, a wide range of insects constantly visiting its delicate flowers for a nectar boost.
