The Mauretan malva is a cultivar of the wild malva. It differs from the wild variety above all in its very decorative flowers, which are a deep pink with dark purple veins. It flowers profusely and persistently from June until well into autumn, and its overall appearance makes it a very impressive perennial that should be given space. The Algiers Malva (as it is also known) is a wonderful addition to the country garden, the herbaceous border, the medicinal herb garden or the natural garden, and it also grows beautifully as a container plant.
